Calculating indices: To calculate SQI and IEC values for site inventories, all fields should be completed. Your e-mail address will not be displayed publicly and will only be used to contact you if there is a need to confirm any of the information. Site inventories can be added by copying and pasting species names from any existing list, such as Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, text files, etc. into the Species List box. Recent synonyms and a range of common misspellings are catered for. Each species name should be on a separate line.

Select SQI-type (broadleaf or conifer) to reflect the main woodland habitat. This enables SQI to be calculated separately for conifer plantations or Caledonian pine forests.

Please list the Data Sources that support the submitted inventory.

The Comments field can be used to describe the site, ownership details, access restrictions etc.

Once the list is complete, click on the Validate button at the bottom of the screen. This will check to see if the listed species are included in the SQI/IEC calculations and allow you to correct any mistakes. When the list includes all qualifying saproxylic Coleoptera, click on the green Submit button. The SQI/IEC scores for your site will then be displayed but the details will not be added to the overall Rankings page until the submission has been checked. A threshold of 40 qualifying species is required for sites to be included in the Rankings.
